For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly, while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
Paul’s letter to Titus affirms Jesus as the “Grace of God” sent to renounce evil and guide us in living an upright, Godly life. Advent 2015 finds us recalling the waiting Paul who recounts the hope and shares the glory of God’s Savior, Jesus. Christ gave Himself for us to redeem us from our sinful nature. His salvation of His faithful followers leads us to believe that goodness will overcome evil and God’s Kingdom can come on earth as it exists in Heaven.
Loving God; we thank you daily for giving us your Son Jesus who you sent to earth to teach us how to live in love with You and each other. Please provide us daily courage to stand for the right to show others how Your Kingdom has come in our hearts and is available for all believers. This is our prayer for the coming year- that all will come to You as followers of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
